Still Never Get Accepted As…
I’m a huge music fan and shoot a lot of different styles. I love how back in the day guys like Glenn E. Friedmann would shoot Minor Threat or Black Flag, then turn around and photograph Run D.M.C.,Public Enemy, Beastie Boys or Ice T. I recently secured studio space and a fancy Oliphant backdrop (see photo at left). It’s the same type (made by the same painter) that Annie Leibovitz uses for her high fashion shoots. I want to do a project where I photograph rap and hip hop artists against this backdrop. Then maybe I’ll extend to punk and metal. I’m aiming for photos with a vibe that could be dropped into a magazine like Vanity Fair and I’m intrigued how that mix of edgy music style and traditional portraiture/fashion can work.
What you’ll get out of it:
High quality digital photos to use on your social media, print out for personal use or use in press kits, etc.
What I’ll get out of it:
A chance to meet and photograph amazing people and work on my portraiture. A cool portfolio of portaits to use on my website and on social media. A chance to help support and promote the vibrant musical community in Cincy. I will not sell or commercialize the photos.
